The Season of Surrender is our community's unique expression of what the church traditionally has called Lent. Lent is a season of preparation for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. A time where we enter the story and walk the way to the Cross with Christ. Modeling and practicing the selflessness expressed in our loving Savior. Jesus said, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me (Mark 8:34).” This season then invites us to practice little deaths and voluntary self-denial. Mini-crucifixions, so the life of Christ, through grace, is born in us.

From March 3rd to Good Friday, we invite you to observe the season with us and prepare our hearts for Christ's resurrection. When preparing for your time, it can be helpful to start by reflecting on these questions... What am I giving up to create space and dependence on Christ? What am I giving away that's of value to me? What can I do to be more aware of others, their sufferings, and needs? How can I tangibly, in small ways, practice surrendering my will?
